Interpreters Center
The University of Siedlce was the first university in Poland to provide higher education for students with disabilities in 1989.
At that time, sign language interpretation was not yet available.
Only in March 2002, when the number of Deaf students reached 120, did the first interpreter — Halina Grzeszczuk — appear.
The number of interpreters gradually increased and students received support in all classes.
Today, four interpreters are employed: Halina Grzeszczuk, Anna Siliwoniuk, Michalina Stygienko and Sylwia Szymańska.
Interpreter support in classes is free of charge.
